Involvement of business in social affairs would enhance the already high power of business in society. With huge financial resources at their command, businessmen may dominate major social institutions, like religious, educational, military affairs, it will acquire wide powers over society without corresponding account-ability to the public. That is why, public in general does not support/perfer business involvement in social issues. Social responsibility doctrine will lead to a new feudalism in which businessmen would exercise influence over everyone and everything.
