The real beauty of Meditation

Meditation does not have any root, nor any substance which the mind can grasp. In fact perhaps the most important aspect of it is the absence of any desire to possess anything. There is nothing that must necessarily happen in meditation every time: sometimes it can be deep beyond imagination, while at other times it is extraordinarily light like a wafted breeze. It is this unknown factor that is the real beauty of meditation: there can be no expectations at any time. Sometimes, one sits for about an hour and it seems like half an hour; sometimes it could be the other way around. there is really no question of any meditation as having been good or bad, successful or unsuccessful.
